College functions through 14 departments, where every department is a self-reliant unit, they work in harmony among themselves, to fulfill the commitment of dynamic development of student. Under Prof Dr.K. C. Das, Principal and imminent ayurvedic consultant, each department conducts various clinical and academic activities like Clinical Seminars and Medical camps for the benefit of students and general public. From time to time department invites guest lectures on specialized branch of medicine for reorientation of departmental teachers and for benefit of final professional students. Department comprises Hygiene, Rasayana, Vajikarna, Panchkarma and main stream of Ayurvedic therapy along with identification of drugs described in old classical texts.

Department is running OPD and IPD. 40-50 patients of various diseases visit the OPD daily. Various patients are admitted in the hospital for treatment of chronic diseases.

Departmental Highlights
Audiovisual Aids: The Seminar hall has LCD projector/slide projector/over head projectors/models for making learning easier and interesting in different subjects like Anatomy, Physiology Dravyagun, Ras-shastra, Surgery, Panchkarma and Pathology.
Dissection of human dead body: The dept. of Rachna Sharir has ample facilities for dissection of dead bodies in its dissection hall with attached preservation room etc.
Anatomy Museum : Our college Anatomy museum is considered as the best museum among ayurvedic colleges.
Ras Shatra Museum: In this museum, under the dept. of Ras Shastra and Bhaishjya Kalpana, various raw drugs of mineral and animal origin as well as their formulations have been exhibited. Students learn Ayurvedic pharmaceutical procedures in the dept.
Physiology Laboratory: The dept. of Kriya Sharir has well equipped physiology laboratory for conducting all the practicals related to the subject.
Agad Tantra & Vyavharayured : Various poisonous drugs and a number of models and charts concerning medical jurisprudence have been displayed in the museum under the dept. of Agad Tantra & Vyavharayurved. Students are given practical exposure to the medico legal cases in the district courts.
Dravyagun Museum and Herbal Garden:Dept. of Dravyaguna has museum where samples of various dry herbal drugs have been displayed for their proper identification along with herbarium. A herbal garden has also been developed in the college campus for identification of green plants. A new green house has been added in the herbal garden thus adding new more varieties of plants.
Operation Theatre: The dept. of Shalya tantra, Shalakya Tantra & obstetrics have hi tech operation theatres.
Department of Samhita, Sanskrit & Siddhant
Department of Agad Tantra and Vidhi Ayurveda

Popularly known as Department of Basic Principles exact nomenclature is Sanskrit, Samhita & Siddhanta Vibhaga. Ayurveda originated as part of Vedic Sciences. This is an integral spiritual science devised to give a comprehensive understanding of all the universe.

 

Department of Agad Tantra and Vidhi Ayurveda comprises about Toxicology and Medical Jurisprudence. This dept explains the complete knowledge of poisons of deferent origin and its Medical Jurisprudence

Department of Rachan Sharir comprises about structure. Knowing this is very first step in world of medical science. Sharir has two branches:-

Departmental activities are:-

  • To give knowledge about External and internal Structures of human body by the theoretical & practical classes.  
  • Practical classes include - i) Bone study by skeleton, ii) Organ study in the museum.
  • Dissection of human body is done regularly in Department for the comprehensive knowledge of human body.

Departmental activities are:-

  • It has successfully treated Infertility with Ayurvedic procedures   
  • All the menstrual disorders like scanty menses, DUB (Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding), Amenorrhoea, Dysmenorrhoea are successfully treated with herbal Ayurvedic Medicines in this department. This treatment gives much more better results than hormonal treatment.

Ayurveda, Science of life deals with all aspects related to physical, social, psychological & spiritual facets of human life.

  • The “Kriya Sarir” deals with study of the normal functions of body during rest and activity. The whole purpose of Kriya Sarir is to explore the normal functions of the living organism, their principles, their mechanism & their actions.
  • The Department is fully equipped with latest Laboratory equipments to Study of compound microscope, TLC, DLC, Bleeding time, Clotting time, Hb%, ESR, Blood group, Blood pressure and etc..

Department of Dravya Gunacomprises about identification, Collection & Preservation of drugs and also Principles of Ayurvedic Pharmacology.

 

It is a the most important and major branch of Ayurveda. Department of Rasashastra Bhaishajya Kalpana Vigyan
Department of Shalya Tantra

Popularly known as Department of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Science which includes Collection, Purification, Preservation, making of compound formulation, Dosage, vehicles for medicines and methods of administration of ayurvedic medicine. It also deals with ayurvedic metallurgy and alchemy, higher metals, mineral ores in ayurvedic medicine.

 

 

Among the different branches of Ayurveda, Shalya Tantra has its own place. This branch of Ayurveda deals with those disorders which require surgical interventions at some stage of the disease.

Departmental activities are:-

  • diagnosis and treatment of various surgical disorders with all modern facilities.
  • Special Ano-rectal Clinic – Department is providing highly successful treatment with minimal recurrence rate for fistula-in-ano using “Kshar-sutra” (Medicated thread) method and “Kshar” application in bleeding piles.
  • Kshar Sutra training programes and medico-surgical camps are arranged regularly for the benefit of students and public.
Department of Roga Nidan and Vikriti Vigyan

Etiology of all diseases samprapthy (pathology), lakshana (symptoms) and Roga-Rogi Pareeksha (investigation of diseases and diseased-an ayurvedic perspective).

 

A part of Astang Ayurveda; in which diseases related to parts lying above clavicles i.e. ears, eyes, mouth, nose etc.. Departmental activities includes Diagnosis and treatment of disorders related with Shalakya such as Refraction, Ocular Physiotherapy specially Yoga & eye sight, Live demonstration on patients and audiovisuals and charts.
